Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park

Address: Urb. Costa Aguilera Alta, 115, 18680 Salobreña, Granada

Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park is where Andalucía cranks the drama up to eleven. Spanning both Málaga and Granada provinces, this rugged wilderness is all cliffs, canyons, and panoramic views—topped by La Maroma, the park’s 2,065m summit that lets you take in the Costa del Sol and the Mediterranean in one sweeping glance.

The terrain is streaked with silvery marble, giving the mountains their signature white-grey glow, especially stunning at golden hour. If you’re into hiking, canyoning, or just escaping the crowds, this place delivers. The Axarquía-side villages—Frigiliana, Canillas, Cómpeta—make great basecamps, each with their own Moorish charm and food worth hiking for. It’s family-friendly, adventure-ready, and full of that untamed energy you can only get in inland Andalucía.
