Rincón de la Victoria, Spain

Just 15 minutes east of Málaga, Rincón de la Victoria blends beach life with deep-rooted history. It’s where locals escape to their second homes, families settle in for a laid-back summer, and curious travelers stumble upon Roman ruins and pirate legends without the crowds. The beaches are wide, relaxed, and kid-friendly—ideal for lazy swims, paddleboarding, or long sunset strolls.

Dig a little deeper (literally) and you’ll find the Cueva del Tesoro—one of the only marine-formed caves in Europe and home to legends of buried treasure. The hilltop Bezmiliana Castle, built for coastal defense, still watches over the coastline, while inland Benagalbón keeps the Axarquía’s Moorish past alive with narrow streets and olive trees.

Romantic and relaxed with a splash of myth and mystery, Rincón is a place where ancient temples once honored moon goddesses and forts fought off Berber pirates. Today, it’s where you go to unwind in the sun—with history at your feet and fresh espetos on your plate.
