Mirador de San Miguel Alto, Granada

Address: Cam. del Sacromonte, s/n, Albaicín, 18010 Granada

Perched 850 meters above Granada, Mirador de San Miguel Alto is where the city unfolds in full cinematic glory. From up here, you’ll see it all — the Alhambra glowing in the distance, the whitewashed maze of the Albayzín, the caves of Sacromonte, and the snow-dusted peaks of Sierra Nevada. It’s the highest viewpoint in the city, and easily one of the most breathtaking spots in all of Andalucía.

The viewpoint sits next to the 17th-century Hermitage of San Miguel, built on the remains of a Moorish tower known as Torre del Aceituno — a place wrapped in legends of olive trees that bloomed and ripened in a single day. Over the centuries, it’s been a fortress, a ruin, and a sanctuary — each layer adding to its mystique.

Reaching San Miguel Alto is a climb (around 30–40 minutes from Plaza Nueva), but the reward is worth every step. Bring water, good shoes, and maybe a beer for sunset — because when the sky turns gold over the Alhambra and the city lights start to sparkle, there’s no better view in Granada.
