Ermita de Santa Ana, Mijas Pueblo

Address: 29650 Mijas, Málaga

Tucked into the Santanas district—one of the most authentic corners of Mijas Pueblo—the Ermita de Santa Ana is more than just a charming Baroque chapel. It’s a quiet symbol of the village’s unchanged soul, surrounded by cobbled lanes, whitewashed homes, and Andalusian calm. Built in the 18th century, it recently got a much-needed restoration, but its spirit remains untouched.

Step inside and you’ll find a single vaulted nave, floral medallions on the walls, and intricate acanthus mouldings—details that feel almost too ornate for such a humble setting. Outside, the Roman-arched entrance and bell gable keep it low-key but elegant. It’s the kind of spot where you pause, take a breath, and forget what century you’re in.
