Bodegas Tradición – Jerez de la Frontera

Address: C. Cordobeses, 3, 11408 Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz

Bodegas Tradición offers one of the most exclusive and immersive sherry experiences in Jerez. While many bodegas focus on volume, Tradición produces only VORS sherries—Very Old Rare Sherry—each with a minimum age of 20 years, some reaching up to 45. The bodega was founded in 1998 by Joaquín Rivero, but its roots go back to the original Bodega CZ from the 17th century, and it shows in every detail. Tastings are private, personal, and expertly guided—this isn’t mass tourism, it’s a curated journey through the soul of Andalusian wine.

But what truly elevates Bodegas Tradición is its in-house fine art gallery. While you sip on a glass of complex Amontillado or velvety Pedro Ximénez, you’re surrounded by original works by Spanish masters like Goya, Velázquez, and Zurbarán. It’s the only winery in Spain that combines high art with historic winemaking, creating an experience that feels more like stepping into a cultural salon than a cellar. Tucked into the charming San Mateo neighbourhood of Jerez’s old town, it’s ideal for couples, art lovers, and anyone seeking something truly unique. It’s romantic, quietly luxurious, and totally unforgettable.
