Playa de la Chullera, Málaga

Address: 29691, Manilva, Málaga

Tucked between Manilva and the Campo de Gibraltar, Playa de la Chullera feels like a hidden pocket of Mediterranean wilderness. This beach isn’t your typical sandy stretch—it’s all rugged rock formations, translucent waters, and quiet coves perfect for snorkeling or spearfishing. You’ll need to park in the Punta Chullera residential area and walk across a tall bridge to reach it, but the views make it worth every step.

On the western edge, look out for the crumbling remains of a Nasrid-era watchtower, once used to scan the coast for pirates. Today, it’s just you, the sea, and maybe a curious crab or two. Chullera is best in August, when the sun hits the rocks just right and the water is crystal-clear. It’s quiet, romantic, and totally kid-friendly if your little crew likes to explore tide pools and rocky shores.
