Step into the heart of Cómpeta this August 15th for La Noche del Vino, a festival that celebrates the region’s rich wine-making tradition with a twist of local culture. This unique event, rooted in the town’s agricultural history, marks the grape harvest’s beginning with a joyous gathering of locals and visitors. The streets are filled with traditional music, dancing, and plenty of wine, as people come together to share in the celebration of the land’s bounty.
From the grape treading at midday to the magical night of fandango music and Verdiales dances, every corner of Cómpeta comes alive with energy. Around 20 arrobas (more than 200 liters) of wine are poured throughout the evening, accompanied by local dishes like migas and fresh salads. You’ll also find an artisan market selling everything from jewelry to handmade candles. This festival isn’t just about wine; it’s a vibrant celebration of community, tradition, and the Mediterranean spirit of this picturesque town.
