The Gran Premio de Jerez is a must-attend event for any motorsport fan. Held every May at the legendary Circuito de Jerez–Ángel Nieto, this MotoGP race is where speed meets passion. Since 1987, it’s become one of the most anticipated races on the calendar, attracting over 250,000 spectators each year. The energy is palpable as the world’s top riders push their limits on one of the sport’s most thrilling tracks. The circuit, named after Spain’s most legendary rider, features a 4.4 km technical track with tight corners and sweeping curves that test both skill and nerve.
The atmosphere is electric all weekend, with fans camping out around the track, riding in from across Europe, and packing the grandstands for qualifying and race day. Riders and teams treat Jerez as a benchmark for the rest of the season due to its demanding layout and passionate crowd. The city of Jerez itself transforms during the event, with motorcycle-themed street parties, merchandise stalls, and an influx of bike enthusiasts filling local bars and hotels.
If you’re going, book accommodation early, and consider getting a paddock pass for behind-the-scenes access. Grandstand seats at Turn 1 or the final Jorge Lorenzo corner offer some of the best views. Jerez is also known for being one of the most affordable MotoGP venues in Europe — high value, high adrenaline.
