Gran Fondo La Indomable is one of Spain’s most grueling cycling challenges, held each May in the rugged landscapes of the Sierra de la Contraviesa and Alpujarra Almeriense. Spanning 197 km with over 4,000 meters of elevation gain, the race tests even the most seasoned cyclists with long, steep climbs and technical descents. The breathtaking mountain views along the route make it an unforgettable experience for all participants.
Attracting thousands of amateur and semi-pro riders each year, the event is well-organized with timed sections, mechanical support, and feed stations to keep cyclists on track. For those not quite ready for the full challenge, there’s also a shorter 112 km Medio Fondo option. Registration opens months in advance and fills up quickly, so don’t wait to secure your spot in one of Spain’s most iconic gran fondos.
