101 Kilómetros de La Legión isn’t just an ultra-marathon—it’s a rite of passage. Every May, over 8,000 runners and cyclists descend on Ronda to face the infamous 101 km course, created by the Spanish Legion to honor their historic march to Tetouan. What began in 1995 as a military tribute has evolved into a massive endurance event blending military spirit, local pride, and sheer human grit.
The course winds through jaw-dropping Andalusian landscapes—Ronda, Setenil, Montejaque—while thousands of spectators line the streets, cheering like you’re in the Olympics. Locals hand out water, food, and encouragement as if you’re family. You don’t need to be an elite athlete—just determined enough to take on one of Spain’s most legendary physical and mental challenges. Finish it, and you’ll carry the Espíritu de la Legión with you for life.
