Best Tapas Restaurants in Marbella, Spain

Marbella is full of amazing restaurants—but if you’re after modern Spanish flavour, creative plates, and great vibes, these are three spots we’ve personally tried (and loved). Each one does things a little differently, and all are worth the hype. Got another favourite? Send it our way.

El Boquerón

C/ de la Cruz, 5, 29601 Marbella, Málaga | $$

El Boquerón is a local favourite that brings a fresh, contemporary twist to Marbella’s tapas scene. Set in a charming spot just off Orange Square in the Old Town, the atmosphere is relaxed but buzzing—especially in the evenings when the waiting list spills onto the street. The menu leans toward modern Mediterranean with Spanish roots: vibrant salads, inventive tapas-style plates, wood-fired pizzas that surprise in both quality and flavour (great for kids!), and beautifully made desserts that feel far more elevated than you’d expect at this price point. No reservations—just write your name on the board, explore the Old Town, and come back hungry. Read More

Arco Tapas Bar

C. Peral, 14, 29660 Marbella, Málaga | $$

Set on a quiet corner in Marbella’s atmospheric Casco Antiguo, Arco Tapas Bar is one of the best-rated tapas spots in the city. It blends traditional Andalusian flavours with a more modern, international touch—think slow-cooked pork cheeks, confit artichokes, and Iberian presa served with finesse. The space is stylish and intimate, with a short daily menu and a carefully selected wine list. Service is polished but friendly, and it’s not uncommon to find the owner himself making recommendations. Advance booking is essential—this place fills up fast. Read More

Taberna Gaspar

C. Notario Luis Oliver, 19, 29602 Marbella, Málaga | $$

Taberna Gaspar doesn’t call itself a tapas bar—but it’s one of the most exciting places to share food in Marbella. Just off Avenida de Nabeul near the Parque de la Alameda, Taberna Gaspar sits in a lively part of central Marbella, a short walk from the beach and the Old Town. It serves elevated Spanish dishes with modern flair: grilled seafood, slow-roasted meats, and vegetable-forward plates that feel both rustic and refined. The flavours are layered and creative, the plating is beautiful, and the team clearly cares about every detail. With only a few tables and high demand, booking well in advance is essential.
